The Ministry of Economics, Labour and Housing Construction of the German State of Baden-Wurttemberg awarded the 'Socially Engaged 2021' award to us as part of the small and medium-sized enterprises prize for social responsibility. The award was presented by the Minister of Economic Affairs Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut in Germany.

The German branch of the freelancer.international group is involved in various social projects, especially in the context of the employment initiative Jobs-for-Refugees and the job placement initiative “Corona Job Fairy”. freelancer.international Managing Director Dr. Rainer Kurz: 'We see the fact that we have received the award for the second year in a row as a special tribute to our sustained social commitment. Special thanks and great appreciation go to our employees and voluntary supporters of our initiatives. For us, the placement of freelancers is not only a business activity but also a social contribution.”

The goal of the Ministry of Economics, Labour and Housing Construction is to promote the concept of sustainable corporate management in the sense of so-called 'Corporate Social Responsibility'. One of the criteria for awarding the prize to us is the cooperation between private companies and non-profit organizations. Successful cooperation between these two players strengthens society and helps to solve social and societal problems. They serve as role models and good examples. According to the Ministry, the voluntary social commitment of companies is an expression of social responsibility and thus forms the basis for a stable, supportive and open society.

The award is already the fourth official recognition of charitable activities of the freelancer.international group. Previously we received the Demography Excellence Award and were nominated for the German Engagement Award.

Freelancers can register names and e-mail addresses of reference providers with freelancer.international, which are verified by us. In case of an introduction of the freelancer to a client, these references will be mentioned to the clients, allowing the clients to gather additional information about the freelancer´s work performance.

The central printer of a small insurance office produces only pale printouts. The business owner calls a computer maintenance freelancer whom he has just found on Google.

The friendly freelancer, however, says that his visit is hardly necessary, as the owner can solve the problem himself. The printer has to be cleaned, just as it is described in detail in the operating instructions.

The business owner is impressed: 'I think it is great that you are so selfless and help me out for free.'

Freelancer replies: 'I always advise my new customers to follow the instructions in the manual. If they then try to do it themselves, it usually ends up in a major repair, so my visit will be definitely worthwhile.'
